Madrid, November 19, 2024. The opening day of the third edition of Global Mobility Call will bring together an impressive roster of public sector leaders and business representatives for conferences, meetings, and institutional events showcasing projects and solutions aimed at advancing sustainable mobility.
The opening ceremony of GMC 2024, taking place on the Main Stage, will feature the participation of Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility; Jorge Rodrigo Domínguez, Regional Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid; Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of IFEMA MADRID; and Juan José Lillo, Partner & Co-Founder of Smobhub.
In this space, the roundtable discussion “Public Transport: Evolution of Madrid’s Model of Excellence,” organized by the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid, will address how the Spanish capital’s case can serve as a model for other cities. In the afternoon, senior representatives from ADIF, AENA, Puertos del Estado, RENFE, and INECO will participate in the panel “Critical Infrastructure for Integrated Mobility.”
The same auditorium will close the day with a conversation featuring Joseph McMonigle, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum, who will be interviewed by Iván Marten, President of Orkestra - the Basque Institute of Competitiveness, to provide a global geostrategic vision of the energy sector, highlighting key factors and necessary investments for an orderly energy transition.
At the Ágora Conect, the conference “Beyond the Airport,” coordinated by AENA, will feature the participation of Crisalion Mobility and Ijet Aviation. In the same space, the Indra-sponsored session “T-Mobilitat: Revolutionizing Mobility – The Barcelona Experience” will bring together Juan Antonio March, Director of Rail & Transit Business at Indra, and Manuel Valdés López, General Director of ATM Barcelona Area. Later, the CRTM-sponsored roundtable “Bridging Distances: Integrating Mobility in Regions” will feature representatives from administrations and companies from Spain and other European countries.
The conference “Cities and Regions Facing the Challenge of Decarbonized Mobility,” sponsored by Grupo Ruiz and held at the Ágora Inspire, will address the main solutions for advancing urban mobility decarbonization. In this space, the panel “Building the Foundations for an Orderly Energy Transition,” coordinated by Sistem, will provide a roadmap for achieving long-term sustainability. The session “Rail Mobility: Liberalization and the Spanish Case,” coordinated by ADIF, will bring together representatives from the organization, IDOM, and the National Markets and Competition Commission.
Also, at the Ágora Inspire, the panel “Public-Private Collaboration and Regulation: Pillars of Mobility Transformation,” sponsored by ALSA, will feature the participation of José Antonio Santano Clavero, Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, and Francisco Iglesias, CEO of ALSA. Meanwhile, Júlia Farré and Mohammed Balsad, representatives of Moventis, will have a discussion in the conference “Multimodality as a Driver for Regional Transformation.”
In the Disruptive Studio, the conference “Innovation in Transport: Impacts on Urban and Rural Transformation” will feature representatives from Celering and organizations from other countries, analyzing case studies where transport innovations have been key to creating more accessible, sustainable, and resilient environments. The ACS-sponsored panel “Behavioral Change: User-Centric Designs” will address mobility solutions tailored to user needs and habits. The day at this venue will conclude with a conversation between Oleg Polovynko, advisor to the mayor of Kyiv on digitalization, and Miriam Burgués, a correspondent in conflict zones, titled “Innovation in Mobility During Wartime: The Case of Kyiv.” Promoted by Smobhub, the talk will discuss how the Ukrainian capital has maintained mobility during the war.
